simple is beautiful

We have so many choices. Information is everywhere. We are bombarded by messages about everything we “need.” It is overwhelming, and stressful.
Truth is, we don’t need much. Certainly not everything we are told will lead to happiness.
Simple is refreshing. It is clean, involves fewer decisions and is often better for our financial and mental health. From selecting what we will wear each day, to determining what information to consume, fewer choices allow us to keep our focus on things that truly matter.
Living and consuming simply is not easy. This is especially true when it comes our devices and the internet. Society seems to believe that more bells and whistles make things better — social media, websites, and cell phones have become bloated with tools that dazzle, but are of questionable value.
This is why I was encouraged to discover Bear Blog. It is fast, clean, and simple — all characteristics that I believe make it beautiful. I’ve already used it to set-up a writing space and a daily photo feed as an alternative to Instagram (an idea borrowed from other Bear users).
I am hopeful that developers will use this platform as an example for how simplicity can make the internet less overwhelming, more relevant, and healthier.
Simple is beautiful.
