procrastination by design
Does anyone else over-complicate things?
I'm not sure what it is, but I've always been fascinated by "systems." They may be my most significant time suck.
For instance, maybe, if I come up with the perfect system for getting things done, the tasks will just do themselves. I'll just "fall into" productivity. Oh, and without any stress.
Or, perhaps, if my plan for living the life I dream of is intricately designed (with every detail accounted for), the things I want to accomplish will happen without much effort or thought.
Honestly, AI isn't so great for this tendency either. Now, instead of me trying to design a plan, I just ask artificial intelligence to do it. Yikes. Then I talk to it like a friend, "So you really think I should do Z before A? I guess that does seem logical." AI told me to do it.
Having a plan is good. And, I'm not opposed to AI. But, at some point I just have to do stuff. For most things, action now beats perpetual planning.
