birks, shorts, and a t-shirt: every day
Simple is so refreshing.
But why is it so challenging?
I would be perfectly content wearing Birkenstock sandals, shorts, and a soft t-shirt for the rest of my life (keep in mind that I live in Arizona).
But, I have a closet full of clothes.
My day could be planned on an index card. An appointment or two each week, and a couple tasks each day (I'm retired).
But, I still feel the need to have a "productivity system" and I become discombobulated if my phone isn't within reach.
I don't need another book on self-improvement, a new fangled watch, or the latest and greatest widget (widget = outdoor gear or fishing tackle).
Aside from food, water, and shelter, there is nothing I have purchased that I could not live without if necessary.
I envision a life with less clutter, fewer commitments, and reduced distractions.
And the quiet, slower pace, and tranquility that would accompany such a life.
It sounds really good.
But why is it so challenging?
Have you found the simple life?
What's your secret?
